Preparing People with Disabilities For
Active and Independent Living in The Community
The Functional Independence and Community Residence Program is a ground-breaking hands-on training program that prepares adolescents and young adults with severe physical disabilities for functional independence and independent living in the community. We work with young adults with complex physical disabilities and high school aged adolescents up to age 21 (also with complex physical disabilities).
The key to this program’s success is the combination of providing specific tools, skills and adaptation strategies alongside our focus on facilitating increased motivation and encouraging our participants to choose themselves – together, these elements bring the results, every year, that we achieve.
These results are also possible thanks to Tsad Kadima's unique Conductive Education approach, which intentionally uses group dynamics, creates a community of active learners, reinforcing initiative and motivation so all participants can take “another step forward.”

Tsad Kadima's Training Apartments
The program is conducted in specially equipped and adapted training apartments for people with physical disabilities. Once or twice a week, participants live in the apartments and commute there by adapted transportation. During this time, they receive guided activities led by the program's professional staff.
These activities are part of their preparation for functional independence and becoming an autonomous resident and an independent citizen in the community.
Functional Independence and Community Living Preparation for Adolescents
An additional aspect of this program engages groups of high school ages adolescents with complex physical disabilities who attend the “Tsad Kadima” Special Education School in Rishon Lezion.
